A golf course is vandalized in Monroe County leaving golfers unhappy with the conditions.
The Glen Brook Public Golf Club in Stroud Township is asking the public for help.
Over the past several weeks, dirt bikes have torn up some of their greens.
Those in charge don’t want it to continue but they haven't had any luck in catching the culprits.
Thanks to the beautiful weather— it’s a busy day today at Glen Brook Public Golf Club in Stroud Township. But unfortunately not all of the 18 holes are up to par.
Glen Brook Head Golf Professional Dustin McCormick says, "They’re taking the dirt bikes out onto some of our greens, out on our back 9, which is in a location where we can’t see from our clubhouse here and just digging in their back tires, kicking up all the grass they can kick up, tearing pretty much the greens out."
For the past few months, the two dirt bikes have been spotted on area roadways going at high speeds. We’re told the vandalism just started within the past two weeks. And they’ve already affected Golfer Stephen Quinn’s game.
Quinn says, "If you hit into that area it does, you know, you got to move your ball and change everything up."
We’re shown the primary damage at one of their par three’s greens, "Here’s one of the spots that the dirt bikes tore up, and we’re slowly starting to patch."
And maintenance workers have their work cut out for them.
Glen Brook Golf Course Superintendent Jeff Feick says, "Cutting sod from our nursery green and transferring it to the damaged areas and it’s really a time consuming process and the repair work will take a long time to match up to what was here before."
The pair have also been spotted riding the dirt bikes through Hickory Valley Park, which is located near the golf course. It says right here on this sign “No Motorized Vehicles.”
McCormick says, "Kids that are doing it are either middle school, high school, something in that range, but we’ve had plenty of golfers call when they hear them or see them in either the park or on the golf course but by the time we get out there, they’re gone."
That’s why they’re asking you to be on the lookout. One has a blue bike wearing a white and green helmet and the other has a yellow bike wearing a helmet with red accents. Police are actively investigating.
McCormick says, "I really don’t care about getting them in trouble, I just need them to stop."
