A man that means a lot to his community is retiring after working 51 years at the same company.

Yesterday was Thomas Kemmerer's last day on the job in Delaware Water Gap. He started working at the West Rock Paper Company in 1970 after he got back from serving in the U.S. Army. He credits his time in the military with helping him become a good worker by making him more disciplined. Kemmerer shares with News 13 his advice for how to have a long career and get along with coworkers.

"I have a good relationship with everybody. I try to stay happy. If you get yourself down try to look at something good and just be a happy person," Kemmerer, said.

Now that he's done working, Kemmerer is planning to travel out west to California where he can roller skate in warmer weather near the beach.
