A Monroe County home is spreads lots of Christmas cheer to the community. The Belvin Family Christmas lights show is back for its 9th year.

Over 170,000 lights are strung up at the Belvin family home on Cherry Lane Road in Pocono Township. It takes about six miles worth of extension cords to pull the show off. The lights are synced up with 40 songs from Christmas classics to modern hits.

"It's a lost American pastime, you know, a lot of us our parents would put us in the car on a Saturday night and we'd drive around and look at Christmas lights and that was our Saturday night," Jerrod Belvin, said.

The Belvin family also uses the lights display to raise money for a local non-profit each year and this year they've chosen the Pocono Mountains United Way.
