An annual Christmas tree sale means so much more this year to local heroes in Stroud Township.
The township fire department’s fundraiser kicked off today at their firehouse near the Stroud Mall parking deck on North Ninth Street. Volunteers have been selling the fresh cut trees and handmade wreaths for over a decade. While it’s always their biggest money maker, this year thanks to the pandemic, they’re really counting on the community coming out.
"We cancelled a lot of our fundraisers, we didn’t do any of our coin tosses so we are struggling a little bit financially and to come out and support the fire company when we can do it, would be really great," Bill Unruh, Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Company Chief, said.
They'll be open Monday - Friday from 5 a.m. - 9 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.. The tree sale will continue through December 21st as long as supplies last.
