EMS heroes are honored Thursday night in Monroe County for the work they do every day.

This is the 3rd year for the Lehigh Valley Health Network Pocono Foundation's Heroes Dinner held at Camelback Lodge in Tannersville.

Bushkill, Pocono Mountain Regional, Surban and West End EMS Services were recognized.

Organizers say it's important to thank those who spend their days saving lives.

"They work closely with the emergency medicine physicians and the rest of the team in the emergency department to make sure during that precious time between a medical incident and getting to the hospital the patients receive the best care," said Steve Cunningham, Vice President of Marketing Development for LVHN.

Patients whose lives were saved by these crews were also in attendance to share their stories.
