Friday's temperatures have all of us thinking spring.

It was the perfect weather for opening day at Annie's Ice Cream in Jim Thorpe.

The popular spot opened for its 21st season Friday afternoon.

Two years ago, Annie's opened in the midst of a March snowstorm. Owners say they're grateful for much better weather this year.

"Thank God, this year there's great weather, 60 to 65 degrees, looks like the sun's coming out, you can't ask for a better Opening Day," said Kyle Porembo, owner at Annie's Ice Cream.

Opening Day at Annie's has a special twist this year.

The shop has joined Team Jim Thorpe's "Fight Against Cancer" campaign.

News 13 told you about Jim Thorpe students Olivia Wolfe and David Richards. They're raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Annie's is donating fifty percent of all Opening Day sales to the kids' campaign.
