It's been just over five months since the Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl and a local legislator is almost finished with a mission he set off on two months ago in honor of that huge Eagles victory.

Since May 8th, Senator John Yudichak has been hiking all 165 miles of the D & L Trail, something he pledged to do if the Birds won.

On Monday, he hiked from Lehighton to Weissport and into Jim Thorpe, making a stop at the Lehighton Outdoor Center as part of his continued effort to raise awareness of the trail.

"I've witnessed it. Whether it's in Bristol, New Hope, Lehighton, Jim Thorpe, [the D&L Trail] is an economic engine. It's a true community asset and we want to make sure we have that in Luzerne County so we got to finish the job, close the gaps, and be a part of this great D & L National Heritage Corridor," said Yudichak.

Senator Yudichak will wrap up his hike Friday in Wilkes-Barre.
