Employees at Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area continue to assess the damage left behind from two winter storms while also working to re-open park roads and visitor facilities as quickly and safely as possible
Heavy snow and high winds from the March 2nd storm brought down hundreds of trees throughout the park. The trees have blocked access to trails and many roads throughout the park service.
Park Service employees are getting out this week to inspect how much damage they are looking at and what it will cost to repair.
Kathleen Sandt, Director of Public Affairs for the Park Service asks folks to be patient while employees try to clear the trails for the public to use.
